Keep Cool and Noodle On: Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya Launches New Summer Specials Available Through the End of September

HONOLULU (August 1, 2024) — This summer, dive into Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya’s newest seasonal dishes: Summer Special Hiyashi and Crispy Ebi Cakes. These limited-time dishes – as well as a $4 summer special on Sapporo draft beers — are available at the restaurant’s Ala Moana Center, Pearlridge Center, and Town Center of Mililani locations, now through the end of September.

“Who said you can’t enjoy ramen in the summer? We’re excited to spice up summer with our new seasonal dishes and Sapporo special to help diners keep cool,” said Tina Wang, owner of Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya. “Our summer menu is all about refreshing, bold flavors that are perfect for Hawaii’s hot, humid weather. We’re also excited to expand our popular fried rice dishes to our Ala Moana and Pearlridge locations, allowing even more diners to enjoy these favorites.”

The Summer Special Hiyashi ($14.99) includes a zesty tsuyu broth and house-made shoyu pork chashu. It’s then served with thick Japanese noodles and is topped with chili oil, seasoned egg, green onions, and seasoned menma (bamboo shoot), making it the perfect dish to cool off on a hot summer day. Back by popular demand, the Crispy Ebi Cakes ($9.99) makes its return as a great ramen pairing and features deep-fried shrimp cakes filled with mozzarella cheese and served with sweet chili sauce and wasabi mayo. These limited-time dishes are available at the restaurant’s Ala Moana Center, Pearlridge Center, and Town Center of Mililani locations, now through the end of September.

Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya also recently expanded the availability of its popular fried rice dishes to their Ala Moana Center and Pearlridge Center locations. Guests at these restaurants can now enjoy the restaurant’s Kimchi Pork Chashu Fried Rice, Garlic Fried Rice, and Shrimp Fried Rice.

Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya’s menu features a wide selection of fresh and gourmet dishes and includes the option to build your own ramen or pick from their authentic Japanese creations which include the Wonton Chicken – a chicken broth, wonton, spinach, green onion, fried onion, and half egg served with thin noodle – or their popular vegan options including the Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen – a vegan broth, green onions, spicy bean sprouts, spinach, atsuage tofu, crispy onions with garlic and chili oil served with kale noodles.

If noodles aren’t your thing Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya also offers a variety of Rice Bowls like their Beef Sukiyaki Don or Karaage Don as well as Tokyo curry bowls including a Pork Katsu w/ Curry and Pork Gyoza w/ Curry. To start off any meal, you’ll want to check out their selection of izakaya options which range from Tempura Brussel Sprouts and Fried Oyster to Seaweed Salad.

Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya currently operates four locations in Hawaii at Ala Moana Center, Kapolei Marketplace, Pearlridge Center, and Town Center of Mililani.
