Acapulco – Waipio Shopping Center

If you’re looking for a good Taco Tuesday deal and don’t want to deal with crowds in town, I recommended trying out Acapulco in the Waipio Shopping Center. Mexican food isn’t my first choice, but my boyfriend is a big fan. We happened to both be off on a Tuesday, so we decided on having a late lunch here.

I was pleased to see that their dine in option is back! Last time I was at this shopping center, most things were still takeout only. When dining in, you get an appetizer of their chips and salsa on the house. The chips are nice and warm and the salsa has a decent amount of spice that I didn’t expect from a free appetizer.

I love horchata, so I have to get it whenever it’s available. My boyfriend got the mango margarita and it was huge! They were both refreshing on a hot summer day.

Acapulco has one Taco Tuesday deal: pork mini street tacos. There’s a minimum of three tacos per order at $2.60 each. These were pretty small, so if you’re hungry you should probably order six of them. We were planning on eating again later, so my boyfriend only ordered three. The taco deal is a good bang for your buck.

I didn’t feel like eating pork, so I got the shrimp taco plate. You can get them either grilled or fried, so I got them fried. The plate was really big so I had to bring home leftovers. They were very generous with the filling so I had to eat some of it with a fork.

Overall, I enjoyed the laidback atmosphere of this place. It was a nice escape from the loud Taco Tuesday crowds in town!
