Auntie Pasto’s – Kunia Shopping Center

To be honest, I’ll look up a restaurant on Yelp before going to that place, and when I saw that Auntie Pasto’s had a 3.5/5 rating, I didn’t think too much of it. But I was craving pasta and wanted to give it a try anyway. I placed a phone order on a weekday evening, was told that it would take 15 minutes, and started on my 20-minute drive over to the restaurant.
I pulled into one of two takeout order parking spaces right in front of Auntie Pasto’s, and was greeted by the friendly and personable Levon. My order was indeed ready as soon as I arrived at the restaurant, but I wanted to check out the restaurant’s dine-in atmosphere a little more, so I took some photos around the restaurant.
The interior of the restaurant was dimly lit, comfortably spaced out, and a nice dine-in spot overall, that gives one a respite from the busyness of life. If I was to dine in, I would have needed to write my name, phone number, and physical address per COVID tracing precautions, and encouraged to sanitize my hands out front before proceeding to my table. One other touch I appreciated was that there was a window that peeks into the kitchen counter, so I could see that the staff were hustling! It was just Levon and another coworker that day, and it was impressive.
After making my way around the restaurant, I finally took my food home and brought it to share with my family.

Seafood Pasta with Linguine ($19.50)
This one is a marinara sauce with clams, mussels, fish, calamari, diced tomatoes, olives, garlic, chili flakes, and wine. I appreciated the savory flavor with a slight spicy kick.

Shrimp Scampi ($18.75)
A parmesan-butter-cream sauce with shrimp, onions, red bell peppers, and parsley is something you cannot go wrong with. This one is decadent with refreshing notes from the bell peppers and shrimp.

Sin Pie ($6.50)
Now this is the very thing that could sind me into a coma. A graham cracker crust holding a chocolate filling and topped with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and nuts? OH MAN.
The verdict? Worth it if someone suggests this place for a family dinner. Mahalo to Levon and the team for the warm hospitality. Check it out and give it a try!

Love their stuffed mushrooms appetizer!
I’ve never tried that before! Guess I’ll have to do that the next time I’m there!
